Far from shying away from the hot topics Australian Labor welcomes the opportunity to expose its delegates and observers to the latest in emerging thought and recognises its importance in the creation of progressive and relevant public policy.
The Fringe Program is scheduled around the formal Conference discussions to enable delegates to attend breakfast, lunch or evening events where they can hear and join in with informed and specialised presentations and debate issues of interest, concern and public policy.
Whilst the events play no formal part in the conference policy agenda the opportunity to draw attention to issues that are being debated and generate publicity around these issues to influence that debate is dramatically heightened during the Conference.
The Fringe Program is also a fantastic program of events for Conference observers and a great way to introduce yourself to progressive political debate if you are thinking about getting more involved in the Party.
