It’s time for Australia to become a republic.
All but one of Australia’s state premiers and chief ministers have signed a declaration supporting the end of the constitutional monarchy and calling for Australia to become a republic. Not only that, but Labor Leader Bill Shorten and Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull have expressed their support for an Australian head of state.
That means an overwhelming majority of Australia’s political leaders — no matter their politics — now support an Australian head of state.
Stand with our political leaders and add your name to this growing list. There are 54 Commonwealth nations. 33 have already become republics. It’s time for us to join them.
