Tony Abbott and the Liberals - a surplus circus

George Wright posted Monday, 13 February 2012

By saying "make my day" about a debate on the economy, Tony Abbott might like to think he's Dirty Harry, but when it comes to the crunch he's been ducking for cover.

Labor is bringing the Budget back into surplus and has a plan to support Australian jobs and growth in our economy. But what is Tony Abbott's plan?

The Liberal Party needs to find $70 billion worth of cuts to our hospitals, our schools, our National Broadband Network and other vital infrastructure investments just to get to the starting line, yet when they try to explain where they'll start they tie themselves in knots.

Our latest ad highlights the disarray the Opposition is in when it comes to the economy.

The only thing that Abbott and the LNP have in surplus is empty space between the ears.

along with being set on bring the budget back to surplus and doing anything, including bringing in useless taxes for the Australian public to pay, to cover teh funding to bring it back into surplus. Bigger problems to worry about Ms.Gillard.

The current PM looked like a bumbling junior minister last night on ABC. This is the person who is running our country, someone who breaks promises (and a number of them ), plays dumb when the hard questions are asked.

Won't make any difference if the govt return's to surplus, Gillard has no credibility and as such will lose a Gillard govt going to the next election!,the electorate won't forget, nor forgive.

Dying to see the plan. We run a permanent current account deficit and are net savers/deleveragers, so by definition the private sector is in deficit from that. Running a surplus will put us even further into deficit, so where will the jobs come from?
