Budget Confirms ABC & SBS Victims of Tony Abbott's Lie

The Budget has confirmed that the only job Tony Abbott cares about saving is his own.

It has been one year since Tony Abbott broke his promise not to cut the ABC or SBS.

This year’s Budget confirmed the reality of last year’s Budget disaster for ABC and SBS employees who have been sacked.

The night before the last election, Tony Abbott said:

"No cuts to education, no cuts to health, no change to pensions, no change to the GST and no cuts to ABC or SBS."

                                                                                                                                     TONY ABBOTT– 6 SEPTEMBER 2013

On Budget night last year he cut more than half a billion dollars out of the ABC and SBS leaving viewers angry and hundreds of ABC and SBS employees shattered.

Tonight’s Budget papers have revealed in black and white for the first time the victims of Tony Abbott’s lie.

Page 133 of Budget Paper No. 4 has a breakdown of the staffing profile changes in the Communications portfolio and shows lists the 215 ABC and SBS employees that have lost their jobs because of Tony Abbott’s cuts.

Unfortunately, this is not a Budget for Australia’s future - this is a short-sighted attempt to save Tony Abbott’s job.
