Elected to parliament in 2007, David was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer in 2010, and later appointed Assistant Treasurer and Minister Assisting for Deregulation in 2012.
David has always been committed to the key Labor values of making sure that we have a strong economy that delivers for working Australians, greater quality and access to education, fairness and decency in our workplaces and access to affordable childcare.
David studied at the University of Sydney, graduating with an Arts Degree and an Honours Degree in Law before studying taxation law as a postgraduate student.“The Labor Party has always dedicated its energies to the pursuit of social justice, fairness and the creation and extension of opportunities for and to all. Prior to entering parliament, David served on the Penrith City Council and as Mayor of Penrith. He also worked as a senior associate practising taxation law.
