Candidate for Forde

Des has lived with his family in Forde for over ten years. Des is a radiographer at Logan Hospital and leads a team of highly trained professionals providing MRI services to people from Logan, Gold Coast, Brisbane and Ipswich.

Working in the public health system in Forde, he understands the importance of caring for people through the development and delivery of quality public health services. Des is an active, committed member of his union and is passionate about fairness and equity in the workplace.

Des and his wife Marta are the parents of three children. They are both active volunteers in a number of organisations in which their children are involved. Des greatly respects the contribution that our education and sporting organisations make to the intellectual, emotional and physical development of our children.

Des has always participated in sport where possible and enjoys staying fit and healthy through regular exercise, walking to work, going for bike rides with his children and eating well. He believes a healthy lifestyle contributes to a healthy mind and a happy life.

Des believes it's essential a Member of Parliament is engaged with the community they live in and the people they represent. He considers the role of a Member of Parliament is to serve the whole community, delivering outcomes that benefit local people.
