David Feeney was elected to the Senate for Victoria 2007. He has served on a number of committees including the Senate Standing Committee for Publications, the standing Committee for Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade from July 2008 to May 2009, the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee and the Senate Select Committee for Climate Policy. He has also served on the Joint Statutory Committee for Public Accounts and Audit.
Senator Feeney has also held a number of party positions, including time as a member of the Victorian ALP Administrative Committee, an Ex Officio Member of the ALP National Executive and Caucus Secretary of the Federal Parliamentary Labor Party from August 2008.
Before Entering Parliament, Senator Feeney was an Industrial Officer for the Transport Worker's Union, ALP State Secretary, Victorian Branch, Director of Strategy in the Office of Premier Steve Bracks and ALP Assistant National Secretary.
