Elias has been ACT Branch Secretary since October 2009 and has lived and worked in Canberra for 10 years. Prior to moving to Canberra he worked as an Industrial Officer with the CEPU in Sydney and as an electorate officer. He also has a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Elias now lives with his wife Vanessa and their 4 daughters in the West-Belconnen suburb of Macgregor.
After working as a national organiser for 8 years Elias became the deputy director of the target seats unit in the federal campaign HQ in 2007 and was one of the National Assistant Secretaries in 2008/9.
As Assistant National Secretary Elias put together a comprehensive national campaign training program, which he is now transferring to the ACT Branch.
After working in senior campaign roles in the ALP for over a decade Elias is keen to work with the local party membership on the re-election of the Federal and ACT Labor Governments in 2010 and 2012.
