Nick Martin is an Assistant National Secretary of the Australian Labor Party.
He has worked at the National Secretariat in Canberra since 2005, helping to rebuild the Labor Party at the national level in the lead-up to the 2007 election campaign.
As the Director of Research in the national campaign he provided advice assisting the Labor Government's election campaign win.
His roles at the National Secretariat include directing the work of the Chifley Research Centre, Labor's national think-tank, and steering the review of the ALP National Platform through the National Policy Committee. He has recently helped the ALP to create a lasting web-presence for our history as a Party and movement www.laborhistory.org.au.
A Canberra local, he has worked as a policy advisor to the ACT Labor Government and worked for the Liquor Hospitality and Miscellaneous Union (LHMU) organising low-wage workers.
He has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Bachelor of Laws, both from Canberra's Australian National University.
