Candidate for Casey
Hovig moved to Gladysdale in 1992 where his family established an organic vegetable farm.
Hovig’s upbringing has given him a strong work ethic, a deep sense of community and a commitment to social justice.
He graduated from RMIT University with a Bachelor of Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics Engineering with Honours.
At university, Hovig was actively involved in student organisations and served on the RMIT University Council, the RMIT Student Union and as an office bearer for the National Union of Students.
Hovig has worked as an engineer at BORA Engineering and he is currently a membership officer at the SDA Victorian Branch.
Hovig is an active volunteer in the Yarra Yalley - he is a member of CFA Little Yarra Brigade and Engineers Without Borders.
Hovig’s core beliefs are education, job creation and making multinationals pay their fair share. Hovig is excited about working hard to elect a Labor Government for the people of Casey.
