Candidate for Denison
Jane is a senior policy analyst with the Tasmanian State Service, where she has worked in the areas of mental health and suicide prevention policy for nearly ten years.
Jane previously worked as a teacher and established Tasmania’s first specialised resume writing business, helping jobseekers in their search for employment.
Jane has a strong interest in developing Australia’s preventative health agenda and works hard to increase awareness of the links between health, education and future prosperity. Jane graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Arts, a Diploma of Education and a Graduate Diploma of Journalism and Media Studies. She is currently completing a Masters degree in Politics and Policy through Deakin University.
Jane is passionate about gender equality and is a former EMILY’s List National Committee member. Jane will work hard to ensure that Denison benefits from Labor's Your Child. Our Future education funding and from an accelerated roll-out of Labor’s superior NBN. She will fight for full penalty rates for all workers and strongly oppose any increase in the rate of GST.
Jane’s personal interests include hockey, sailing, photography and cooking for friends. Jane is married to Steve and together they have four children.
