Candidate for Calare
Jess was born in Bathurst and now lives just out of town at The Lagoon with his fiance Kate and family on a few acres.
Jess is the Managing Director of Rufus Jennings, a company specialising in improving productivity and natural resource management outcomes for Australian agriculture. The company delivers effective extension design and delivery, drought relief/response services, strategic development, and professional project management.
Jess has an Honours degree in Economics and Econometrics from the University of New England, and a Dairy Australia scholarship doctorate on the effectiveness of participatory research in agriculture. He worked as a research economist specialising in on-farm technology adoption for both NSW and Australian Departments of Agriculture.
Jess understands the needs of the people of Calare through his work and commitment as a councillor for the Bathurst Regional Council since 2012.
Jess believes in good health, jobs, education and standing up for middle and working class families. A Shorten Labor Government will put people first.
