Member for Braddon

Justine was born and raised in Devonport, Tasmania before moving to Launceston to study at UTAS.

After graduating with a Bachelor of in Arts specialising in history and geography, she spent time working in the television industry before relocating to Perth to study a Bachelor of Environmental Impact Assessment at Murdoch University.

Missing home, Justine returned to Devonport in 2002 and began working with the Hon Bryan Green MP, who was the Minister for Environment at the time.

Initially performing administrative duties, she worked as his personal assistant before taking leave to spend a year in London.

At the time of the London bombings, Justine was working for a director for constitution affairs at the civil service and worked on the counter-terrorism bill as it was passed through the parliament.

She returned to Australia in 2006 and continued working in the office of Bryan Green, this time as an electoral officer – a position she held until recently.

Justine was elected to the Devonport City Council as an Alderman in 2009, serving the community for seven years before resigning in 2016 to launch her election campaign for Braddon. She also recently completed a post-graduate diploma in Psychology from Monash University.

Justine's work as an Electorate Officer and an elected representative in local government has given her enormous experience, knowledge and skills to assist the people of Braddon and a deep understanding of the people, the issues, challenges and opportunities of the North-West and West Coast of Tasmania.

Caring, listening and respecting are three essential actions that Justine will adhere to during her time as Member for Braddon. Her door is open to all members of community, and welcomes opinions and perspectives that differ from her own.

Justine says that her three young sons were the inspiration behind her success in Braddon, and she continues to work hard to create a better nation in which they can fulfill their dreams.
