Candidate for Parkes
Kate Stewart was born and raised in rural and regional New South Wales. Growing up as the daughter of a school teacher and living in towns like Ungarie and Wilcannia has given Kate a keen understanding of the area’s needs.
Like many people in regional communities, Kate has moved around the state for work, including a position serving the public as an analyst in the Australian Treasury.
Now Kate is looking to use her skills and experience to serve the electorate of Parkes, providing more local work opportunities for communities in the state’s Central and Far West.
Parkes is a beautiful, diverse, and exciting electorate, but the Nationals have been taking it for granted for too long.
They have been voting with the Liberals in Parliament to pass cuts to health and education that have made life harder for regional families.
Kate is running for the Electorate of Parkes in this election because Tony Abbott, Malcolm Turnbull, and Mark Coulton have made it harder for hard-working young Australians to get ahead.
Kate will be a real voice for this region in Parliament so we are no longer taken for granted.
She believes it does not matter whether you’re a farmer in Tullibigeal, a shearer in Ivanhoe, or a teacher in Broken Hill – you deserve the same rights to quality health care, education, and work opportunities as an investment banker living in Point Piper, Sydney.
