Candidate for Kennedy

Norm is a local who has lived in the Kennedy electorate his whole life. Norm is a Correctional Officer, union delegate, tradesman, farmer and small business owner.

Born in Innisfail, he was raised by his father Norm Snr, a cane cutter who cut cane by hand in the 1950s and 60s. Norm’s family is working-class and has been raised with working-class values. Having being raised by his single parent father in the 1970s and 80s Norm has grown up with a strong work ethic and deep community and family values.

Norm has worked as a Correctional Supervisor at Lotus Glen Correctional Centre on the Atherton Tablelands for many years. He has been a union activist for 18 years. Norm has owned three small businesses over the years, including two panel shops and Mareeba Pet World. Norm currently owns a 210 acre farm near Mareeba, on which he has run cattle and sheep and grows mangoes.

Norm has two children, who are now adults, and a grandson. Norm has helped raise money for everything from cyclone to cancer appeals.
