Biography

Yvette and her husband George, a Queensland Police Officer, have lived on the Northside for over 15 years. They have two young children, Emma and Cameron, and, like many families in Petrie, are constantly trying to balance work and family life.

Educated at Redcliffe State High School, Yvette has worked in administration, hospitality and clerical roles in both the private and public sectors and she later balanced full time work with studying law. As a qualified lawyer, Yvette is proud to work for a union, advocating for working men and women in the challenges they face in their day to day lives. Yvette knows that working Queenslanders and their families should expect a basic fair go in the workplace.

Yvette has worked hard to develop training and employment opportunities for Queenslanders, and sits on the state’s Training and Employment Recognition Council. Yvette was also a member of the Workplace Bullying Taskforce and the Work and Family Taskforce.

As a mother of two, Yvette understands the many pressures placed on family time and budgets and she knows how important it is to have a Federal Member who will stand up for our community – now and into the future.

Yvette is well placed to represent the people of Petrie in promoting education, training, the environment and a fair go for working families.
