Biography
Mark Furner was born in Brisbane in 1958 and grew up in the suburb of Chermside.
He is married to Lorraine and has 3 children Troy, Stacey and Sally.
Mark has held numerous positions in the ALP and is currently an elected official of the National Union of Workers. He is a long-standing volunteer and office-holder for both the ALP and wider Labour movement in Queensland.
Mark is a strong believer in community activism and participates in various local activities ranging from Clean Up Australia, to local soccer teams that he coaches as well as the Petrie Lions. In 2006 and 2007 he was a team captain of Relay for Life Queensland Cancer Council, achieving recognitions as the highest fund raiser on both occasions.
Mark is proud to be part of a Kevin Rudd's Labor Government and is committed to work hard in the interests of all Queenslanders.
