Senator for the ACT
David became Senator for the ACT in May 2018.
Access to quality affordable education, fighting rising inequality and changing the rules for fairer workplaces are key areas where David wants to make a difference.
David is a born and bred Canberran. He grew up in the Woden Valley and was educated at Saints Peter and Paul Primary School, Marist College and the Australian National University. His family lives in the Woden Valley and his three children attend local schools.
Prior to becoming a Senator, David was the local Director of Professionals Australia, the professional and industrial organisation that represents science, engineering, IT and other professional employees across private and public sector workplaces. He has also worked in both local and federal Government (and briefly in local Government in the UK) and has worked in the labour movement for the last fourteen years.
