ALP National Secretariat is seeking expressions of interest for an exciting campaign role in our digital team.

Digital Analyst

Digital Analyst is responsible for gaining a deep understanding of Labor’s online audiences in support of the National Secretariat’s digital strategy. The role calls for a creative approach to analysing our campaigns, fundraising and supporter engagement and how we can enhance that effort.

The role will work with members of the digital team to produce insights to inform Labor’s strategy across social channels, website and digital media plans.

Key Responsibilities

Analytics Analysis

  • Analyze and report on digital campaigns, user data and fundraising strategies.
  • Provide audience analysis utilising social and website analytics.
  • Scrutinise digital assets and offer optimization suggestions in support of our organisation’s goals.
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis on our audience to help drive experimentation and user improvements.
  • Evaluate and implement improvements to ALPs holistic digital strategy.

Digital Media Planning

  • Contribute to creating digital media strategies to match what we know about our digital audiences.
  • Provide insights into the performance of digital paid media, in conjunction with a media agency.
  • Seek and recommend new digital channels to accelerate the performance of digital paid and earned media. 

Joining the Dots

  • Join the dots between our website, social activity, email campaigning and database assets to inform our digital “Test and Learn” approach.
  • Drive implementation of analytic technology to ensure reliable and robust reporting.
  • Support A/B testing by designing experiments and providing insights to improve campaign performance, audience selection and design.
  • Report on weekly performance of social and web properties. 

Essential skills

  • An understanding of organising theory
  • 4+ years’ experience in digital media or as a digital analyst.
  • Superior excel and data visualisation skills with eg. Tableau, PowerBI etc
  • Experience using Google Analytics, user testing and research to make recommendations for website enhancements.
  • Comfortable using data driven approaches to develop targeting.
  • Demonstrated ability to measure and interpret results to inform digital strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications.
  • The ability to translate complex data into easy-to-understand actions for a broad audience.
  • Experience developing digital user journeys.

Desirable skills

  • Experience with the Facebook, Twitter & Google media platforms
  • Stakeholder management skills

About the role

This is a fixed term, full-time appointment based in Canberra or Sydney.

The position is part of the Digital Unit and reports to the Digital Director.
