Julie Owens is the Federal Member for Parramatta. She has been a member of the Australian House of Representatives since October 2004.
Born 17 October 1958 in Rockhampton, Queensland, she was educated at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and at the University of Sydney. Before winning the seat of Parramatta she was a small-business owner and head of the Association of Australian Independent Record Labels (AIR).
Julie is chair of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Economics, Chair of the House Committee on Procedure, and a member of the Standing Committee on Publications.
