Frank is a hard-working family man who is well known for standing up for his community.
He’s lived in the Mackay region for more than 30 years and has served his community as councillor in local government, senior public servant, manager and school teacher.
Frank has strong family values and has three adult children together with his wife Julieanne, and is a proud grandfather to three young grandchildren. He is passionate about regional Queensland.
His real life experiences and thorough understanding of the needs of people living in regional towns will bring a fresh approach to representation of the dynamic communities of Central and Northern Queensland.
As a local councillor for four years, Frank was instrumental in implementing a water efficiency program through the ‘MyH2O’ web site and Australia’s most advanced automatic water meter reading initiative.
As the director of the Queensland Government's Office of Rural and Regional Communities, Frank worked hard advocating for local families, and mining and farming communities.
Frank is also committed to giving back to his local community through volunteering as a Lifeline telephone crisis supporter and being an active member of Rotary. He is the current Regional President of the Mackay Regional Council of the St Vincent De Paul Society.
Frank also serves on the management committee of Mackay's St Vincent de Paul Housing Committee that oversees a range of accommodation for homeless people and those at risk of homelessness, and is a long term supporter of the Mackay Schools Chaplaincy Committee.
