Maddy Northam has spent her working life standing up for workers.
Maddy was 27 when she became the Regional Secretary of the Community and Public Sector Union. She has since taken on leadership roles in global unions including International Trade Union Confederation and Public Services International, where she sits on the global executive.
Like many Canberrans, Maddy moved here for work and fell in love with our inclusive, progressive community.
Strong communities don’t just happen – they are built on top of quality public services and secure jobs. That is why Maddy is devoted to fighting for our community, representing Canberra’s workers and advocating for a strong public sector.
Unless we protect public services, they get eroded over time. We need strong representatives that stand together with the community and defend the things that make Canberra an incredible place to live.
Maddy is running for the Senate because she wants to make sure all Canberrans feel part of a community they can count on.
Maddy has your back.
