Born in Collie, Wayne Sanford has lived in the South West for the majority of his life, and as Labor’s candidate for Forrest is a passionate advocate for the region.
Wayne and his wife Mary raised their three children in the area, and both have strong ties to the community.
With 36 years’ experience working in the coal industry on the Collie Coalfields, Wayne has extensive knowledge of the south west, and a solid background as a champion for the local community.
He held the position of Collie Shire Councillor for 16 years, first elected in 2001 and for 10 years held the office of Collie Shire President.
Wayne is passionate about growing the economic, social and environmental capacity of the south west, and believes it’s time for Forrest to be better represented in Canberra.
