Michelle is the Federal Member for Greenway. She was born in Blacktown Hospital and she grew up in Seven Hills. Michelle went to school in Lalor Park.

Michelle supported herself through high school and university by working as a checkout operator in a Blacktown supermarket. She was a senior lawyer with the leading law firm Gilbert & Tobin in Sydney.

Michelle lives in Glenwood with her husband, Michael, who grew up in Mt Druitt.

Michelle has previous experience working to improve local services and infrastructure as a Director of the Western Sydney Area Health Service from 2000 to 2004, and as a local Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Blacktown.

Through her work at Gilbert & Tobin, Michelle took on a mentor role in the City Job Futures program, an initiative to help disadvantaged women into the workforce, and has worked as a pro bono duty solicitor for victims of domestic violence.

Michelle has been a respite carer to a foster child for several years through Barnardos Australia.

Michelle is also a patron and supporter of many local community and sporting groups.
