Tell the Senate we need an EPA

Australia needs an independent Federal EPA. And the Senate will decide.

Labor is introducing legislation to create Australia’s first strong, national independent Environmental Protection Agency. But the Greens and Coalition have blocked this reform before, and unless we build massive public pressure, they could do it again.

Our environment is under enormous pressure. Current laws are outdated and ineffective. Communities are left without a voice. Big corporations are too often left unchecked.

A Federal EPA will change that. It will:

  • Enforce environmental laws independently of political pressure
  • Create consistent, national environmental standards
  • Monitor and publish data on environmental impacts
  • Impose stronger penalties on repeat offenders
  • Give local communities a way to report breaches in their own neighbourhoods.

This is common sense reform but we only have a few weeks to convince the Senate crossbench to vote yes.

The more signatures we have, the stronger our case.

Add your name today and tell your Senators to back a Federal EPA.

Together, we can deliver the strong regulator Australia needs to protect our environment and hold big business accountable.
