From 1 July, women across Australia will be able to access menopause and perimenopause care and support through all 33 Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain clinics.
The expansion builds on the Albanese Labor Government's record investment in women’s health and will help more women access timely, evidenced-based care closer to home.
The clinics will continue to provide specialised support for endometriosis and persistent pelvic pain, while expanding access to provide women with perimenopause and menopause care, to help with the treatment and management of symptoms.
Perimenopause and menopause can affect women differently, with symptoms ranging from hot flushes and sleep problems to anxiety, brain fog and changes to mental health and wellbeing.
Many clinics are broadening the support available to women experiencing menopause and perimenopause, with access to physiotherapy, dietitians and psychology alongside clinical care.
By bringing these services together, women can access more coordinated support to help manage symptoms, maintain their wellbeing and navigate this stage of life with confidence.
The expansion of care is part of the Albanese Government’s landmark nearly $800 million women's health package that is continuing to deliver on its promise of more choice, lower costs and better care for Australian women.
