Jo Briskey, Labor's candidate for Bonner, is a working mum, and with her husband Ravi they are raising their two girls, Gweny and Margot.
Jo is a qualified psychologist, and for the past five years has been a national voice for parents as the Executive Director of The Parenthood, Australia’s peak advocacy organisation for parents.
Jo has fought to secure more federal funding for childcare for local families, and has been a strong voice against cuts to paid parental leave and the support that families in Bonner depend on.
Scott Morrison and the LNP tried to hand over billions of dollars to big banks at the expense of our local schools and healthcare services. As a working mum, Jo knows that the burden of these cuts fall back onto local families.
This isn’t good enough. Instead of the cuts and chaos, Jo will fight for funding for our schools, healthcare services and local economy.
