Tom French was elected to Parliament in 2025 as the Member for Moore.
Tom grew up in regional New South Wales before moving to Western Australia, where he completed an electrical apprenticeship and went on to work for over a decade across commercial and mining projects. He later studied law and practised as an industrial officer and lawyer before entering Parliament. Tom has also worked in hospitality and business management.
As a kidney transplant recipient, thanks to his brother’s donation, Tom is passionate about strengthening Medicare and ensuring every Australian has access to quality, affordable health care. He is also a proud father to two young sons.
Tom has lived in Perth’s northern suburbs for many years and is active in local community and Labor Party life. He enjoys live music, the arts, and supporting local sporting clubs and community groups.
As the Member for Moore, Tom is focused on tackling cost-of-living pressures, protecting secure jobs, and delivering better services for his community. He has strongly supported the Albanese Labor Government’s agenda to deliver:
