Cheaper medicines updates

The Albanese Government went to the election promising cheaper medicines.

That’s why we’ve delivered the biggest reduction to PBS medicine prices since the scheme was introduced in 1948.

Labor introduced 60-day prescriptions for millions of Australians with ongoing health conditions. 60-day scripts mean twice the medication for the cost of a single prescription.

Everyone with a Medicare card taking one of the common medicines on the PBS will save up to $180 per year, per medicine.

That means fewer visits to GPs saving patients money, and freeing up our local doctors.
