Building Australia's future

We're helping with the cost of living now, while building a stronger, fairer, more resilient Australia.

Education

From child care all the way through to uni and TAFE, we're backing our next generation to set Australia up for the future.

We've made child care cheaper, guaranteed three days of child care subsidy for families who need it, and we’ll build new not-for-profit centres.

For the first time, every school in Australia will be fully funded.

We've made Free TAFE permanent, and we've delivered $10,000 in incentives for new construction apprentices, helping more future tradies finish their training.

We've cut student debt and we're delivering paid prac, all to build Australia's future by investing in education.

Fuel security

War in the Middle East has disrupted fuel supply, and we're acting to shield Australians from the worst impacts.

We're investing to buy more fuel and fertiliser now. And we'll grow our national reserves of jet fuel and diesel to 50 days.

By keeping more fuel here and asking gas companies to reserve 20% of their exports for Australia, we’re making sure we’re better prepared for future energy shocks.

And we've cut fuel taxes to save you money when you fill up.

Better infrastructure

We're making Australia’s cities, suburbs and regions even better places to live.

Across the country, we're building roads and rail to connect communities and get you home sooner and safer.

And we're building the essential infrastructure for new homes, with a new fund to build the water, power and roads communities need.

A future made in Australia

Making more things in Australia will create secure jobs and boost the economy.

We've set up the National Reconstruction Fund to invest in local manufacturing.

We're securing the future of Australian-made steel and aluminium, and ensuring our world-leading resources sector is seizing a new generation of opportunities in critical minerals.

And we're investing to deliver a new generation of manufacturing jobs in our suburbs and regions, building clean energy technology like solar panels and wind turbines here.

Energy and our environment

Australians voted for real action on climate change, and for the thousands of renewable jobs that come with it.

We've put net zero into law. And we’re committed to cutting emissions by 62 - 70 percent by 2035.

We've approved enough renewable projects to power every home in the country. And we've made home batteries cheaper, saving you thousands and slashing power bills.

Our plan is about cutting emissions, and it's about cheaper power, new jobs, and a stronger future for all Australians.

Building Australia's future also means protecting what makes our country so special.

We've fixed Australia’s broken environment laws, and set up a new national Environment Protection Agency.

Our place in the world

Now more than ever, what happens in the world matters to Australians, for our economy and for our security.

As conflict overseas puts pressure on people here at home, the relationships we've developed with global partners means we can work together to shield Australians from the worst of it.

One in four Australian jobs depend on trade with other nations, and we've worked hard to boost it. We've secured free trade agreements with the EU and the UK, and put Australian produce and resources back into China. Because when more Australian products are sold overseas, it means more jobs here at home.

And we're making record investments in defence to keep Australians safe.

With a seat at the table internationally, we can shape what happens around the world the Australian way.

Integrity in politics

Before we were elected, every government in Australia had an independent corruption watchdog, except for our national government. It wasn't good enough.

We promised to deliver a National Anti-Corruption Commission. And we delivered on that promise.

We've made significant reforms to restore trust and integrity to our national politics.

Strong economic management

We're building an economy where more Australians can get ahead.

Our economy is growing strongly, unemployment is low, and wages are moving. Budget 2026 has lower deficits and less debt.

The war in the Middle East is putting pressure on the global economy. But our economic management means Australia is in a strong position to deal with these challenges.
